Sonia Gandhi invites Esha and Bharat to have dinner at her home

On Friday veteran actress Hema Malini’s eldest daughter Esha Deol got married to businessman Bharat Takhtani. Hema Malini, who is a member of Bharatiya Janata Party, invited PM of our country Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi to the wedding but they couldn’t make it due to security issues.

We had invited PM and Sonia Gandhi for the wedding. They couldn't come for security reasons. If it would have been in Delhi, they would have made it. It's a sweet gesture from Sonia Gandhi that she has sent Esha and Bharat an invite that whenever they are in Delhi, they should go to her place for lunch or dinner,” said the actress to IANS.

Esha Deol tied knot with Bharat in a traditional south Indian wedding at Iskcon Temple in Juhu on Friday. The guest list included Amitabh Bachchan, son Abhishek, Rani Mukerji, Manoj Kumar, Vyjayanthimala, Vinod Khanna, Ramesh Sippy, Fardeen Khan, Poonam Sinha, Madhoo, Anu Malik, designer Neeta Lulla and her daughter Nishka.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s daughter Aaradhya Bachchan has been center attention ever since her birth in November. The fans are eager to catch a glimpse of the baby and Abhishek Bachchan said that his daughter was not just center of attention among fans but also among their family and relatives.

“The responsibilities have increased. My daughter is the focus of everybody's attention. You are willing to do anything for her. Her innocent presence makes everyone want to spend time with her,” he said in an interview with a daily.

The actor is currently busy promoting his movie ‘Bol Bachchan’, in which he is uniting with his ‘Zameen’ team Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn.

“I think Rohit has become more confident now. He is as hardworking and humble as he was when we were making ‘Zameen’. He is one of the most successful directors that we have today and his track record speaks for itself. He is like a machine who works for, like, 20 hours a day,” he said.

Arbaaz Khan's car runs over a 70 year old woman

Actor and Filmmaker Arbaaz Khan’s car, Land Cruiser, crushed a 70-year-old pavement dweller to death last night in Mumbai. The car was being driven by actor Sohail Khan's driver, Dhananjaya Pimpale. None of the Khan Brothers were present in the car at that time.

The driver was immediately arrested. The police said to a daily that the driver had confessed that he lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn and hit the70 year old lady, who appeared in front of the car suddenly.

The police received a call at 11:30 PM, half an hour after the accident, from an eyewitness reporting the accident. The preliminary tests seem to indicate that the driver wasn’t drunk. But the police are currently testing the urine and blood samples.

Esha Deol ties knot with her beau Bharat

Actress and eldest daughter of veteran actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini, Esha Deol, tied knot with her beau Bharat Takhtani today. The wedding took place at a temple in Mumbai and traditional South Indian customs were followed.

Esha Deol was draped in a beautiful red color Kanjivaram sari that was especially ordered for her from Chennai. Designer Neeta Lulla made some changes to the sari to make it look even prettier.

Mother of the bride, Hema Malini too draped a Kanjivaram sari, while father Dharmendra look dapper in a suit.

“The marriage went very good, there is a slight change in the rituals otherwise all Hindu rituals are the same. She found the right person and is going to be in Mumbai only so I am happy.  We have completed the wedding on time,” said Hema Malini after the wedding to a daily.

Arjun Kapoor confirmed as main lead in '2 States'

The movie adaptation of Chetan Bhagat’s novel ‘2 States’ has been in news ever since producer Sajid Nadiadwala bought the rights.

One of the most covered topics about the movie in the media is about its lead protagonists. Previously it was reported that Shah Rukh Khan will be playing the male lead in the movie. Later it was reported Ranbir Kapoor was signed for the movie. But now the reports suggest that it’s ‘Ishaqzaade’ actor Arjun Kapoor who has been finalized for the movie.

Sajid Nadiadwala, who is collaborating with Karan Johar for the movie, confirmed the news.

“For some time now, there has been speculation about this association. There has also been tremendous curiosity over the casting. The suspense is over. Karan and I are co- producing ‘2 States’ and Arjun Kapoor is our hero,” said Sajid to a daily.

Karan Johar too confirmed the same.

Amy Jackson though just 20 years old doesn’t think that age really matters when it comes to the matters of heart.

“For me, age doesn't matter. You've got to go with your heart,” she said to a daily.

“In today's times, relationships can seem fickle but Prateik and I are best friends. Our relationship is disconnected from our profession,” she added.

The actress said that even though they met during the shooting of ‘Ekk Deewana Tha’ it was only when she moved to Mumbai did their relationship grow.

“I never imagined that my back would become so famous. Everyone who has seen the film has come up to me and asked me about it. It was just a small scene but it seems to have got a lot of attention,” said the actress to HT.

The actress thinks that if her movie had released before Vidya Balan’s ‘The Dirty Picture’, she would have termed ‘fat’. But thanks to Vidya Balan her figure is being much appreciated.

“While we were shooting GOW, size zero was in. But Vidya changed it all. She made voluptuous sexy. Honestly, had I come in before Vidya, I would’ve been termed fat,” she said.

The actress said that Anurag Kashyap had in fact asked her not to lose weight as her curves were prerequisite for the movie.

Amitabh Bachchan death rumors enrage the fans

On Tuesday one of the famous blogs reported that veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has met with a fatal accident and that the actor was pronounced dead on spot. Ever since the rumor has spread like wildfire.

“Amitabh Bachchan died in a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics responding to the vehicle accident,” the blog post read.

The blog also went on to report about the funeral of the actor.

“Memorial services for Amitabh Bachchan have not yet been announced. The service is expected to be a closed casket funeral due to the severe head trauma. Additional details and information will be forthcoming as they become available,” it read.

This news has enraged Big B fans, who have taken to twitter to let their displeasure be known.

'Bol Bachchan' is the most difficult film of my career: Abhishek Bachchan

Actor Abhishek Bachchan is excited about his movie ‘Bol Bachchan’ that is all set to release soon. The actor who plays two different characters in the movie said that ‘Bol Bachchan’ was the most difficult film in his career.

“Everything was a challenge. I thought it will be an easy film to do but it turned out to be the most difficult film of my career. I have done some difficult films in the past as well. But this film was exhausting to do. My misconception was that it is a comedy film, so it will be a holiday, but it wasn’t one. I worked very hard for it,” he said to IANS.

The actor though has been much appreciated for his acting hit comedy movie ‘Dostana’ but Abhishek Bachchan said that the comedy in ‘Bol Bachchan’ was very different from ‘Dostana’.

“And that is what they (Ajay Devgn and director Rohit Shetty) taught me. They taught me the kind of comedy that was required for the film,” he said.

Pooja Bhatt refuses to bow down to Censor Board demads

The Censor Board of India has recently asked director Pooja Bhatt to mellow the erotic scenes in songs of her movie ‘Jism 2’, which all set to be aired on TV soon.

But the director refuses to bow down to Censor’s demands and cut down on eroticism in her songs. The director said that she would release the shows on internet.

“We have 6 songs in #Jism2. Only 3 cater to a universal audience without losing their essence. The other 3 cannot be made to seem asexual!(sic),” posted Pooja Bhatt today on her Twitter page.

“Hence we will only submit to the censor board & plug on TV those songs of #Jism2 what WE feel is appropriate for a family audience(sic),” she added.

The director added that the other three passionate songs can be seen by adults on the internet.
