Kareena Kapoor raised eye brows when she agreed to do the role of ‘Mandakini’ in Milan Luthria’s ‘Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Part 2’. People were wondering how far the actress would go to portray the character of Mandakini who is known for her waterfall act. But apparently Kareena Kapoor isn’t comfortable with that scene and has requested the director to chop that scene.
The yester year diva Mandakini is particularly remembered for white sari water fall scene in the movie ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’. Even though the movie released in 1985 that scene still remains one of the boldest Bollywood scenes.
"Mandakini is remembered for that scene in Ram Teri Ganga Maili. Milan didn't ask Kareena to go so bold. However, the scene that he had envisaged was quite titillating and demanded a certain amount of exposure. Kareena was not comfortable with it”, said a source.
The director Milan had thought to use that particular scene as an introduction to Mandakini character in the movie but Kareena Kapoor has refused to do the scene and has drawn a line about exposing.
"See, there's no denying that OUATIM Part 2 is a story based on the dreaded underworld don Dawood and his friend-turned-foe Chhota Rajan. And Kareena plays the role similar to that of Mandakini, who was allegedly very close to Dawood at a point in time. Luthria, simply wanted to establish the connect”, said the source.
"Work is in progress. Luthria and Bebo are working around it. Whatever is done or changed will have to suit Kareena's sensibilities," added the source.
The movie will go on floors in January.
