Rohit Dhawan, son of filmmaker David Dhawan, is all set to make his debut with the movie ‘Desi Boyz’. Rohit’s first movie is the comedy genre which is the forte of his Dad.
Rohit Dhawan though maintains that even though his movie ‘Desi Boyz’ is a comedy it is nothing like his father’s movies.
“The movie is very much different and does not have my dad's style of comedy and humor. The humor in my film is subtle while the kind of humor he has in his movies is loud. And it is difficult to do that," Rohit told in an interview with PTI.
"His style of comedy is different and it requires spontaneity and energy. While I go by my written script... what I have written. His energy is different... he picks up anything suddenly and changes it and it is done. I find his style of comedy difficult. It’s difficult to do what he does...the energy and the color and getting those performances from actors," he added.
David Dhawan is known as king of comedy as he has delivered few of the best comedies in Bollywood like Aankhen, Coolie No 1, Biwi No 1, Judwaa, Deewana Mastana, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and more recent Partner.
Rohit said that he has learnt a lot from his Dad.
"He has made every kind of comedy film... from loud to subtle. It is like one can remember the performances of an actor from his film. I have worked with him in Partner and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and I have learnt many things from him," Rohit said.
Rohit added that his movie wasn’t strictly a comedy but more like a dramedy.
‘Desi Boyz’ features Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and Chitrangda Singh in lead roles.
