Though Russell Peters movie ‘Speedy Singh’ failed to grab attention at the box office, his comments on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have managed to cause quite a stir.
Russell Peters who was in India to promote his movie ‘Speedy Singh’, took a few digs on Bachchan Bahu which hasn’t gone down well with neither the Bachchan family nor the fans.
"She hasn't become a better actor. She is still good looking, isn't that good enough? Good job Abhishek, you finally knocked her up!" he had said.
This comment has not only angered the Bachchan family and their fans about also activists who think that this comment is in poor taste.
Shalini Thackeray, president of the MNS cine-workers union said, "He (Russell) has no right to talk badly about our actors. His comment on Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is indeed in bad taste and will not be forgotten."
Sundari Thakur from the NGO Nari Samman Sanghathan said, "He should mind his language and stay within his limits. Aishwarya is a woman first and an actress later. I think Russell has no respect for women and shouldn't be entertained."
The producer of the movie Akshay Kumar has also come under scrutiny as many NGO’s have written to him demanding that he makes Russell Peters apologize to Aishwarya Rai.
As Russell Peters is already back in Canada, its poor Akshay Kumar who is left behind to deal with this mess even though he has already apologized to Aishwarya Rai.
