There are hardly any girls who wouldn’t recognize the name Rannvijay Singh is. Rannvijay Singh, who made his first appearance as a contestant on TV reality show ‘Roadies’ season 1, captivated the hearts of girls so much so that he was cast as the host of the show for further seasons. So, it was just a matter of time before he made a mark on big screen too.
He played second fiddle in both ‘London Dreams’ and ‘Action Replayy’. But in Nagesh Kukunoor’s ‘Mod’, which is releasing in few weeks, Rannvijay for the first time plays a leading role. The movie features Ayesha Takia as the leading actress.
Obviously, Rannvijay Singh is very excited about the movie.
“I play this character called Andy who is quirky, sensitive, loud, intense and romantic. Contrary to the biker image that I have, this one gave me a lot of scope to perform. I have lot of shades in this movie as the love story slowly unfolds into a thriller,” said Rannvijay Singh to a daily.
“I had never planned for a launch. I started acting by chance and it grew into a passion. I like to take things as they come. I don’t have any set priorities on the kind of roles I would like to play, I want to play different characters,” he added.
When asked about his director he said, ““He is a tough director and I had to go through several auditions before he signed me for this film. But he is very passionate about what he does and that’s what I admire about the man and he’s completely chilled out when he’s not shooting.”
Would this mean he is saying goodbye to television?
“I would definitely continue working in television as that gave me the face in Bollywood. If people know who I am today, it’s because of my shows on TV. Moreover, it fetched me more female fans,” he smiled.
