The movie ‘Joker’ starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha will be released on August 30 2012 announced UTV Motion Pictures.

The movie is being directed by Shirish Kunder in 3D.

“‘Joker’ release date confirmed, to arrive on 30th August, 2012,” Kunder confirmed on Twitter.

Earlier it was rumored that Shirish Kunder’s ‘Joker’ and Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ will clash at box office but Shirish Kunder put those rumors to rest.

“Joker is releasing two weeks after Ek Tha Tiger. Don't worry, not clashing, would never do that," he tweeted.

The film is being jointly produced by Kunder and Farah's Three's Company and Akshay's Hari Om Entertainment Company.

‘Joker’ is the second directorial venture for Shirish Kunder who made his debut with ‘Jaan-E-Mann’ starring Salman Khan.

He would be working with Salman Khan again in the movie ‘Kick’ which also features Sonakshi Sinha. ‘Kick’ is a remake of Telugu movie by same name and is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.

“We start shooting Kick in June," he said.
