The actress Deepika Padukone, who has played Badminton at State level, has been approached by Sports Development Corporation (SDC) for a motivational campaign during the 2012 London Olympics.

"Yes, she has been approached. In all meetings, the board has been saying that she is the only one they would like do it because she has a very strong bond with sports," said an official spokesperson from Sports Development Corporation, the board promoting Olympics.
"When we are looking for a celebrity to promote sports, we need people to believe that if this person can achieve so much at such a young age, so can we. In the case of Deepika, she is a true young achiever. She has achieved so much at such a young age," they added.
The actress is also a board member of the Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ), an organization that is dedicated to training Indian athletes for the prestigious competition next year.
