‘Band Baaja Baraat’, featuring Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh, released on December, 10, 2010 and went on to become a super hit. Yash Raj Productions, who are producing yet another movie ‘Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl’ starring Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma, are releasing the movie on December, 9, 2011 to recreate some of the old magic.

“December has been lucky for me. Even my debut Yash Raj movie, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008), released this month and was a blockbuster. Let’s hope I can complete a hattrick,” said Anushka Sharma to HT.

It was rumored that Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh were dating each other during and after the movie but broke it off recently as Ranveer Singh found Anushka Sharma very possessive and Sonakshi Sinha more interesting.

But Anushka Sharma denies ever dating Ranveer Singh at all.

“Ranveer is not and never was my boyfriend. It was the media that said we were seeing each other, and then that we were not. We didn’t. I’m single and not in a relationship. In fact, I’ve never even been on a proper date with anyone; if by date you mean getting dressed up and being driven in a swishy car to a fancy dinner,” she fumed.

When asked if these reports were just gimmicks to increase the hype surrounding the movie she angrily replied, “Neither of us would stoop to the level of cooking up controversies to sell our film”.

The other rumor surrounding the actress was that she was trying to woo Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukerji so that she could land in the role of lead actress in ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’, the role that ultimately went to Deepika Padukone.

Anushka Sharma dismissed these reports as nothing more than a fictional story.

“I’m not from the industry and I don’t have a godfather making calls for me, but I still wouldn’t cuddle up to a director or hang out with an actor to bag a film. I hang out with Ranbir and Ayan because I know them socially and not for any professional gains,” she said.

She also said that a director will ultimately pick her if she is right for the role.

“It took Parmeet Sethi a while to realize that I wasn’t Tani from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and I could handle Bulbul from Badmaash Company. I’m a decent actor, my career is going well, I don’t have to get so desperate!” she concluded.
