The new movie starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha has been titled ‘Lootera’, which will go on floors in the year end in month of December. The film, written and directed by Vikramaditya Motwane of 'Udaan' fame, is a periodic romance set in 1950’s inWest Bengal.
"It is a love story. The film is a period film that is set in 1950s. It is a commercial film," said Motwane in a recent press conference.
The lead actors Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha were also present and the conference and looked enthusiastic about their new venture.
"This is the most challenging role for me. I am looking forward to start shooting and working with Ranveer,” said Sonakshi Sinha.
Talking about her look in the movie she said, “I have this authentic Bengali look of the 1950 era. I will wear jewelry, clothes, kajal and make-up and etc of the same time period. We have kept the look original and as authentic as that of 1950s".
Ranveer Singh said that he was very much looking forward to working with Sonakshi Sinha.
"Sonakshi had taken my breath away with her famous dialogue 'Thapad Se Darr Nahi Lagta...Pyaar Se Lagta Hai'”, he said.
"I am the coolest dude of the 1950s...with that high vest jeans and all retro look,” he added.
The movie is produced by ‘Phantom’, new production house set up by four prominent filmmakers Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl and Madhu Mantena with the intention of making content-based films and nurturing budding talent.
'Lootera' is also co-produced by Swati Shetty of Balaji Motion Pictures and is scheduled to release by next year.
