The actress Anushka Sharma is gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’ on December 9th.
In the movie Anushka Sharma plays Ishita Desai, who is street smart and knows how to get things her way.
“Ishita has a big heart and can pull punches when the need arises as conman Ricky realizes all too soon,” says the actress to a leading daily.
After the promotions of ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’, the actress will get busy with Vishal Bhardwaj’s movie ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’, whose shooting will kick start in Haryana.
“We’ll be shooting around places like Rohtak but the film itself is not a rustic rom-com as is being speculated. It’s pretty urban and is a riot. It’ll have the audience clapping their hands and falling off their chairs laughing. It’s one of the funniest scripts I’ve read and I have never laughed so much,” says Anushka Sharma.
For the first time in her career the actress will be playing a dramatic role about which she is excited.
“I’m grateful to Vishal for believing that I could carry off this psycho chick,” she says.
The actress admits that after ‘Band Baja Baraat’ she made a list of top 10 directors that she would like to work with and Vishal Bharadwaj was in her list.
“I never expected to get lucky so soon,” she says.
Ajay Devgn, who was first part of the movie walked out of the movie later to concentrate on home production ‘Son of Sardar’.
Imran Khan has stepped into Ajay Devgn’s shoes. If asked the script was modified to fit Imran Khan the actress said, “Why should it? It’s still the same director.”
She says that novelty of her and Imran Khan’s pairing in a movie like this will work as its USP.
““No one can imagine us in a film like this,” she concluded.
