Sony Music has bought the rights for music of much anticipated Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Kapoor starrer ‘Agneepath’. The movie is produced by Karan Johar under the banner ‘Dharma Productions’.
“We are proud to be associated with Dharma Productions' 'Agneepath'. The six new songs are not only original and refreshing but also soulful and unforgettable,” said Sanujeet Bhujabal, marketing director Sony MusicIndiain a statement.
“This is our 11th venture with Dharma and it's always a matter of pride and a great experience to work with them. The soundtrack is varied and we expect a great response from music enthusiasts,” he added.
The album is composed by musical duo Ajay-Atul Gogavale and consists of six tracks encompassing a wide array of themes - from romance to Qawali and from dance to devotional. The soundtrack features singers like Sonu Nigam, Roop Kumar Rathod and Shreya Ghoshal.
‘Agneepath’ is the remake of cult classic by the same name featuring Amitabh Bachchan.
The film is directed by Karan Malhotra and also features Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor.
Katrina Kaif has done an item song ‘Chikni Chameli’, which is already a huge hit.
The movie will hit screens on January 26th 2012.
