Madhuri Dixit is all set to make her come back to small screen as an anchor in the newly launched entertainment channel ‘Life Ok’ by Star India Pvt Ltd. This channel will act as a replacement for their channel ‘Star One’ on which the curtains have been drawn after eight years.
On the new channel ‘Life Ok’ Madhuri Dixit will act as a storyteller or "brand philosopher".
“The channel will have value-based shows. I'll be the 'sutradhar ' and will interpret and discuss the shows with the viewers,” Madhuri Dixit said to Mail Today.
It’s rumored that the actress isn’t just an anchor but also a partner. But Madhuri Dixit denied the rumors.
“I am not a business partner,” she confirmed.
‘Life Ok’ will have shows such as the controversial reality show ‘Sach Ka Samna-Bhrashtachar Ke Khilaf Sach Ki Awaz’, family dramas such as ‘Meri Maa, Saubhagyavati Bhav’, ‘Tum Dena Saath Mera’ and a mythological show ‘Devon Ka Dev Mahadev’.
“I always felt there were several issues which needed answers. We want to discuss with the viewers matters such as corruption, wife abuse and domestic violence, without being preachy,” she said.
Even though she accepts that the shows are similar to other shows, she said that there is still something novel about them.
“We can't suddenly change the audience's taste. Since the Indian audience is used to watching family shows, we need to offer rich stories and bring to the fore thought-provoking issues which are not widely discussed by the middle-class,” she said.
This is the first project that Madhuri Dixit has accepted after relocating toIndiawith her family.
“Since I have returned toIndia, my priority is to make my children comfortable and give them more time. So I am picking projects judiciously,” she said.
