Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone turns 26 today. The actress who celebrated her previous birthday in Denmark’s capital Copenhagen, the city she was born in, will celebrate her birthday today with family and close friends.

“I am celebrating my birthday with family and close friends,” she said to a daily.

“A simple home-cooked south Indian meal is my birthday wish now,” she added.

When asked if there was any birthday gift that she craves for, the actress replied, “I think my dream home was a gift to myself and I’m enjoying that at the moment”. The actress has recently moved into a plush apartment worth Rs 16 crore from her previous apartment in Bandra.

The actress though added that this year she plans on learning a musical instrument. She went on to say that she was glad to be working in ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ along side Ranbir Kapoor in a Dharma Production.

“I’m excited about Yeh Jawani... because it’s a story of pure love. Plus, working with Dharma Productions feels like an achievement, and I couldn’t have asked for a better start to my birthday,” she said.

Now that she is a year older does she feel more matured?

“I think I’ve always been mature, which is why my parents were comfortable with me moving away from home at a young age. But yes, with every year comes new experiences, and that makes you grow as a person,” she concluded.
