The world wide release date of Anurag Basu’s much awaited movie ‘Barfee’ starring Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D’Souza has been finalized as July 13th, 2012.
The story is set up 1970’s and follows the life of deaf and dumb but cute and adorable guy played by Ranbir Kapoor. The actress Priyanka Chopra plays the role of an autistic girl in the film. Tollywood star Ileana D’Souza, who is making her Bollywood debut with this film, plays a role of a translator and her character spans about 50 years.
“‘Barfee!’ narrates the story of a young, cute but shrewd man whom girls adore. He is deaf and dumb, and a lot like ‘Chalu Chaplin’,” said the production company in a press statement.
Ranbir Kapoor had previously stated that though the subject of the movie is sensitive the movie isn’t a serious one.
“The treatment to the character and film is not serious at all. It is a romantic-comedy which has been set in 1970s. My character is very fun-loving (awaara types)," Ranbir Kapoor had said.
