I can’t act, so I am bad actor: Hrithik Roshan

Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has always been wary about doing remakes. Infact the actor had previously stated that he would never do remakes. So when the actor agreed to play the lead role in the remake of cult classic ‘Agneepath’ by Karan Johar, it came as a shock to many.

Hrithik Roshan said that the main reason he even agreed to look at the script was due to continuous persistence from Karan Johar.

“Karan Johar being a friend forced me and asked me to read the script. When I read the script I was shocked. As an actor it touched me. I was defenseless. I had no reason to say no,” said Hrithik Roshan to a daily.

So now that he is finally a part of a remake, can we see him in more?

“I don’t want to do remakes only. My premise is that I should not do remakes. Earlier, I didn’t even want to hear about it. Now at least I will hear it,” he said.

In ‘Agneepath’ Hrithik Roshan plays the role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, the character essayed by Amitabh Bachchan in the original. Amitabh Bachchan’s performance had also gone on to win him a National Award.

Though comparisons between original and remake are always on, Hrithik Roshan thinks that they will be no comparisons between him and Amitabh Bachchan.

“If you do something in your own way, in your individual way, then it will stand out. People will not compare,” he said.

Sanjay Dutt sinister look in the movie has been the talk of the town ever since the trailer released. It isn’t just audience who are shocked by Sanjay Dutt’s sinister look but Hrithik Roshan himself was surprised by it.

“Once during the shoot Sanjay Dutt gave me such a harsh look that I was taken aback. I thought is this Sanjay Dutt? I was like what’s happening,” he said.

“In the beginning audiences would feel that it’s impossible and Vijay is nothing. If it would have looked easy, then you would not enjoy the journey,” he added.

According to Hrithik Roshan the climax of the movie, which is full of blood and gore, was the difficult shot in his entire career.

“The climax was shot in Diu and throughout I had to fight with Sanjay Dutt with a bare and bleeding body and the shoot went on for 22 days. It ended up being the toughest schedule of my life,” he said.

Even though Hrithik Roshan’s acting has been applauded by critics and fans, he himself thinks that he is a bad actor.

“My premise is that I can only act well if I am in that character. I have to know everything about my character. If I am not living it, then I can’t act. If you ask me to imitate or act, I can’t do it. Others can because they have that talent. I can’t act, so I am bad actor,” he said.

The movie ‘Agneepath’ is directed by debutant director Karan Malhotra and stars Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor. The movie will release on January 26th
