As the movie ‘Agneepath’ released yesterday, the comparisons between it and the 1990 original by the same name have begun. Not only the movies but even the performance of Hrithik Roshan as Vijay is being compared with that the original ‘angry young man’ Amitabh Bachchan.
Hrithik Roshan, who has time and again said that there was no comparison between him and legendary Amitabh Bachchan, said that it unfair to compare their performances.
“You can't compare (with Amitabh). If you start comparing, I will fail in a second. I feel people are not saying that I have done as well (as Bachchan), but I think what they are saying is I have done well in my way and they are cheering for me,” he said to a leading daily.
“I don't even want to analyze. There are no comparisons in my head,” he added.
The movie has opened to a tremendous response and broke the opening day box office records. The movie has garnered an opening day collection of Rs. 25 crores leaving behind ‘The Bodyguard’ and ‘Ra.One’ with Rs.22 crore and Rs.18 crore, respectively.
Hrithik Roshan, whose performance in the movie has earned him rave reviews, is thrilled with the movie’s success and said it was a team effort that ultimately paid off.
“I feel blessed. I think this is what we live for. I am on centre stage but it's a victory for the entire team so I am representing all people - the light boys, the staff, the writers, music directors, the director, everybody is a part of this joy,” he said.
“This is a tribute, homage to the legend of 'Agneepath',” he added.
The movie is directed by debutant director Karan Malhotra, whose talent is being appreciated from one and all.
The performances by Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and especially Rishi Kapoor have received rave reviews as well.
