There is good news for all Amitabh Bachchan fans. The veteran actor who underwent surgery today is stable and resting.

“Thank you all for your wishes and prayers. The surgery went off well and dad is now in the room resting,” tweeted Amitabh Bachchan’s son and actor Amitabh Bachchan.

A doctor, who works at the hospital in which Amitabh Bachchan is undergoing the surgery, confirmed the news that the surgery was successful.

“He got admitted today morning and he is undergoing surgery right now and the surgery is going on well,” the doctor told the reporters.

The doctor said that Amitabh Bachchan came to the hospital due to abdominal pain. After examining him and conducting tests the doctors suggested that the condition could be rectified by surgery.

But the doctor refused to divulge information regarding the problem.

“He is very stable... I will not comment on his medical condition, it is his personal thing. All I can say is that he underwent an abdomen surgery,” he said.

Two days ago Amitabh Bachchan broke the news that he was suffering from abdominal ailment and had to undergo surgery. This news had made his fans very upset.

Since then good wishes have been pouring on his Twitter account Not only by his fans but other personalities from Bollywood.

“@SrBachchan sir wish u the best.jaldi hi theek thaak hokar aap aa jayein..my prayers and love to u sir. Nasrun minal lahe wah fatahun kareeb,” tweeted Shah Rukh Khan.

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who joined Twitter on his 89th birthday because of Amitabh Bachchan, tweeted saying, “Our prayers are with you (@SrBachchan) for your safe and quick recovery. Amen.”
