Recently, filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya announced that his next movie would be featuring Salman Khan and the pre-production work will start soon. But now, with Salman Khan’s health taking a toll on him, Sooraj Barjatya has decided to wait till Salman Khan’s health improved and he was free to do the film.
“Salman is the perfect Prem for my story, which I’m still developing. But now, after reading about his health, I’m worried. I don’t want to risk his health for my movie,” he said to a daily.
“I don’t mind waiting for him for two to three years if that’s what it will take for him to get cured,” he added.
This isn’t the first time that Salman Khan will star as Sooraj Barjatya’s Prem. Salman Khan's two of biggest hits in his early career, ‘Hum Aapke Hai Kaun’ and ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, were directed by Sooraj Barjatya, in which Salman Khan essayed the role of Prem.
“I met Salman with a one-line story idea. He liked it and agreed to shoot in December-January (2013). I still have to show him the final script, but given our association, it will only remain a formality,” he said.
Sooraj Barjatya would be directing a movie after a long time as he is busy helping his sister Kavita in her telly show ‘Jhilmil Sitaron Ka Angan Hoga’ for Sahara One.
“I don’t like starting too many things at once. I was busy setting up the TV division with my sister. Now that the department is working fine, I can come back to movies,” he said.
Sooraj’s 21-year-old son, Devaansh, will make debut with this movie, as he will assist his father behind the camera.
“I don’t know if he’ll stick around in the business, but he has shown keenness,” he said.
“So, I’ve given him an opportunity. I hope he takes over the reigns from me someday,” he concluded.
