After tasting tremendous success with the movie ‘Kahaani’, director Sujoy Ghosh is all set to work on his next project.
Sujoy Ghosh revealed that his next movie will be based on Bengali novel ‘Aranyer Din Ratri’ and feature Vidya Balan and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles.
“I can’t see myself making any films without them. `Aranyer Din Ratri` is a deep novel. I want to take my cinema beyond `Kahaani` now,” he said.
Both Amitabh Bachchan and Vidya Balan were a part of the movie ‘Kahaani’. While Vidya Balan played the main protagonist, Amitabh Bachchan lends his voice for the song ‘Ekla chalo re’.
The director admitted that movie will take time to go on floors because he had to spend a lot of time working on the script.
“I’ve to live with the novel `Aranyer Din Ratri` for at least six months. I have to see where I can take it. After all it’s been done by Ray before. And Gautam Ghose also made a sequel `Abar Aranye` in 2003 to the Ray film. So I’ll have to route the novel in a completely different direction,” the director said.
Recently Sujoy Ghosh had revealed that he would be making a sequel to ‘Kahaani’, which has increased the expectations of people.
“At the moment I’m just enjoying the recognition that has come to me. I’ve waited so long for it. I’m in Kolkata and I see the expectations in people’s eyes. I’ve to go beyond `Kahaani` now,” he concluded.
The director has previously directed movies like ‘Jhankar Beats’ and ‘Aladin’.
