Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra were paired together romantically for the first time in Vishal Bhardwaj’s movie ‘Kaminey’. The movie became a blockbuster hit and the chemistry between Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor was very much appreciated.

Director Kunal Kohli, who has repeated this pair in his movie ‘Teri Meri Kahani’, is expecting the couple to create the same magic that they created with ‘Kaminey’.

“I feel chemistry has to be on paper first. Two actors cannot have right on-screen chemistry if that chemistry is missing from the script. First, characters have to portray the chemistry and then actors take it forward,” he said to PTI in an interview.

The movie ‘Teri Meri Kahani’ depicts three different love stories set in three different era’s 1910, 1960 and 2012 and three different cities.

The first story set in 1910 era takes place in Lahore, where Priyanka plays a Punjabi girl, Aradhana, who is in love with a Muslim boy Javed, played by Shahid.

Second love story happens in 1960’s Mumbai where Shahid plays a struggling music director, Govind, and Priyanka is a famous actress, Rukhsar, and they fall in love.

The third and final love story of 2012 is set in England, where Shahid plays Krish and Priyanka plays role of Radha.

“I would say all the love stories (in three time periods) are entertaining and that is the key feature of the film. They are not melodramatic. All hit love stories whether it is ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’, ‘Hum Aapke Hai Kaun’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ or ‘Hum Tum’, are entertaining,” said Kunal Kohli.

Actor Shahid Kapoor was apparently so impressed with the concept that he signed the movie without hearing the entire script.

“In case of Priyanka, I had gone to her for a film but that did not happen and then I offered her this film. She liked this a lot and that’s how both came on board,” the director concluded.

The movie is all set to release on June 22.
