Author William Shakespeare is someone whose works over the years has inspired innumerable amount of movies both in Hollywood and Bollywood.

Director Vishal Bhardwaj has already adapted Shakespeare’s works ‘Othello’ and ‘Macbeth’ into ‘Omkara’ and ‘Maqbool’ respectively.

Now its being rumored that ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ director Tigmanshu Dhulia is playing around with the idea of making a movie adaptation of arguably Shakespeare’s best tragedy ‘Hamlet’.

Apparently director is keen on casting Abhishek Bachchan as the lead in the movie.

Co-producer Goldie Behl confirmed the news and said that Dhulia was working on idea of adapting ‘Hamlet’ since 2001.

“When Tigmanshu narrated the idea, I was hooked. At the time however, we couldn’t work on the project. Now that Tigmanshu has become a sought after director, it’s an opportune moment to go ahead. It’s a fantastic and gripping revenge drama. I am really looking forward to the film because I am sure it would make for an entertaining watch,” he said to a daily.

Last release of Dhulia ‘Paan Singh Tomar’, a biopic on a real-life national athlete turned rebel of the same name, starring Irrfan Khan was well received world-wide. His previous releases ‘Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster’ and ‘Haasil’ were also good movies.

So great things can be expected from his movie adaptation of Hamlet.
