Director Habib Faisal’s ‘Ishaqzaade’ has surprised many and has become a box-office hit. The movie that stars lesser known actors Arjun Kapoor, son of Boney Kapoor, who made his debut with this movie, and Parineeti Chopra, who made her debut in ‘Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl’ but this is her first movie as a main lead, has been appreciated equally by critics and audience.

Actor Arjun Kapoor said that the audience were more intellectual now and accepted good movies with good actors in them over movies with big names and bad story.

“The new generation has a lot of intensity. The audiences are happy to accept new films today. Nowadays, the audience is very intellectual. They only like an actor because of his acting,” he said.

The actor chose to site the example of Ranveer Singh, with whom its rumored Arjun Kapoor is having a cold war.

“Ranveer is an excellent example of this. He is doing good work. And the audience today only wants good work,” he said to PTI.

Arjun Kapoor’s co-star Parineeti Chopra is glad that the films are no longer clichéd.

“It is a good thing that people are accepting new films and scripts. Films are no longer cliché,” she said.

The actress who joined as Marketing & PR consultant at Yash Raj Films after completing her education said that she wasn’t an actress as she dint know acting.

“I have not learnt acting. I used to ask Arjun and my director if what I was doing was right. Whistling Woods reminded me of my college. It would have been nice, had I got a platform to learn acting. Now there is no time. But we do attend workshops before we start shooting,” she said.

“Acting school teaches and supports you a lot,” she concluded.
