One of the most eagerly awaited movie of the year ‘Shanghai’ is all set to release this Friday. Directed by Dibakar Banerjee, the movie stars Abhay Deol, Emraan Hashmi and Kalki Koechlin in lead roles.

The movie, which underwent censor formalities recently, was cleared by Censor Board of Film Certificate with a ‘U/A’ certificate.

CBFC raised no objections over the concept of the movie but asked the director to make a single cut.

When asked CBFC CEO Pankaja Thakur about the single cut he refused to divulge any information but said, “We cleared the film with one cut with a UA certification. Beyond that we saw nothing objectionable in the content.”

Earlier the hit song from the movie ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ had come under legal tussle when a public suit was filed by Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena against the song in Delhi High Court.

The court rejected the suit and dismissed the plea to stay the release of the movie. The court dismissed the case on the grounds that there was nothing insulting about the song.

The movie will definitely release this Friday on June 8.
