Everyone who has worked with Superstar Rajinikanth says that it was a great honor to work alongside a legend like him. And actress Deepika Padukone, who is working with the Superstar for the first time in Tamil movie ‘Kochadaiyaan’, is no different.
“It was great working with him. I did not feel any pressure. I must say even though he is a big star, he is like a child. He is very excited on the sets. He comes with full energy. He greets everyone including artists, technicians, and also his daughter Soundarya, who is the director,” said Deepika Padukone to PTI.
“I think he and Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan) are the two actors that I have come across, who are so excited about their job...you can see the passion in their eye,” she added.
‘Kochadaiyaan’ is a 3D movie, which will be the first Indian movie to use performance capturing technology, the same technology used in movies like ‘Avatar’ and ‘The Adventures of Tin Tin’ by James Cameron and Steven Spielberg respectively.
“We have used a new technique called performance capturing; this is used abroad like in 'Tin Tin'. In this technique actors are not required to shoot entire scene, only their expression and various emotions like tears are captured and everything else is done digitally. It is almost like animation meets reality,” said the actress.
This in fact is Deepika Padukone’s first 3D movie let alone performance capturing technology one.
“It is very new for me. I started understanding it after I finished doing it. It is very complex process, where emotions are captured separately and then with the help of digital platform and post-production they will create these characters and make it look real. It will not look like animation it will look real,” she concluded.
Directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth, the movie is all set to release this December.
