Filmmaker Prakash Jha recently confirmed that his 2010 hit movie ‘Raajneeti’ would definitely have a sequel. The director even revealed that he had started working on the script and Katrina Kaif, who won critical acclaim for her role in the original, will have a central and more important role in the sequel.

Now actress Katrina Kaif too has confirmed that she has met with Prakash Jha and has discussed the movie. The actress said that though the script wasn’t complete yet she was blown by the story of ‘Raajneeti 2’.

“There are very few scripts that are genuinely entertaining. ‘Raajneeti’ is a script which has been worked on for years. I did hear the idea; I think it’s a genius and brilliant idea. I really hope everything falls in place. The only thing is most of the characters have been killed in the first part,” said Katrina Kaif to IANS.

The 2010 political thriller was both critically and commercially very successful. The movie starred Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Naseeruddin Shah in pivotal roles. Even though Ranbir Kapoor’s character survived in the first movie, Ranbir Kapoor has chosen not to be a part of the sequel.

The actress revealed that work on the sequel will only begin after the director is done with his movie ‘Satyagraha’ that stars Amitabh Bachchan.

“It is genuinely a good idea. I find it exciting and I really like the character. Right now, he (Jha) is working on another film called ‘Satyagraha’ with Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan), but I would love to work with him again,” she said.

“With Prakash we had many discussions on the scripts. He has told me the basic story of the film, but not the entire script, so we have time for that,” she concluded.
