Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s movie ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, which has already created a record for reaching fastest Rs. 100 Crores at the box-office, has now created another record for fetching Rs. 210 Crores in just 12 days at Indian as well as overseas box-office.
“#EkThaTiger India + Overseas combined biz *after 2nd Weekend* is Rs 210 cr +. ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER,” tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
The movie in its 12 days from release has earned Rs. 175 Crores in India, while it has earned Rs. 35 Crores abroad taking its tally to Rs. 210 Crores in total. Still the movie is behind Aamir Khan’s ‘3 Idiots’, which is highest grossing movie both in India and abroad.
“India Rankings TOP 3:- No 1 - #3Idiots [202 cr nett], No 2 - #EkThaTiger [175 cr nett, still counting], No 3 - #Bodyguard [148 cr nett],” posted Taran Adarsh on his Twitter page.
But given that the movie is just 12 days old and tickets sales are refusing to die down, it wont be a surprise if the movie overtakes ‘3 Idiots’ in no time.
‘Ek Tha Tiger’ is also the movie to have the biggest opening collection as the movie collected Rs. 32 Crores on the opening day itself breaking the record of Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Agneepath’.
This is Salman Khan’s fourth movie in a row to reach 100 Crores after his movie ‘Dabangg’ (Rs. 147 Crores), ‘Bodyguard’ (Rs. 148) and ‘Ready’ (Rs. 122).
Incidentally this is actress Katrina Kaif’s first movie to reach 100 Crore mark.
The movie directed by Kabir Khan is produced by Yash Raj Films.
