Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu, who plays a superstar in her upcoming movie ‘Raaz 3’ and has spent 10 years in Bollywood, said that an actor’s life was very sad.
“An actor's life is very sad. The biggest of superstars in our country fade away after some time and are remembered only when they die. But what to do? It is very vulnerable, very sad, but that is the way it is. Nothing is permanent in their life,” said Bipasha Basu to IANS.
In the movie ‘Raaz 3’ Bipasha Basu plays role of Sanjana, an actress who is going through turbulent times. Refusing to let go of stardom and also her man, Sanjana turns to black magic to win back her fame as well as her lover.
“Once you achieve success, you just want to work; you don't want to be forgotten. It is an emotion that every actor worldwide, male or female, goes through,” she said.
‘Raaz 3’ though is not the first movie to concentrate on downfall of an actress from stardom. Previously Vidya Balan won accolades for her portrayal of Silk in ‘The Dirty Picture’ and Kareena Kapoor's upcoming movie ‘Heroine’ too has a similar plotline.
“It is an interesting profession to make a film on - either the actor's life or an actress'. In today's time everybody wants to be an actor. It is a fascinating profession and people want to know about behind the scenes. And that is the reason there have been so many movies made on the same topic,” she said.
“These are all fictional and little drawn from reality. Such films are basically different types of storytelling of different directors, which make for very interesting stories,” he concluded.
The movie also stars Emraan Hashmi, who plays a director and Bipasha Basu ex-boyfriend. Esha Gupta plays a young actress who is at her peak and has replaced Bipasha Basu as a top actress and is also the Emraan Hashmi current love interest.
The movie directed by Vikram Bhatt will release on September 7.
