Director Siddharth Anand has finally started working on his long planned remake of James Mangold action thriller ‘Knight and Day’ that starred Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in lead roles.

The director, who has been planning on the project for a very long time now, has signed Hrithik Roshan to play the role played by Tom Cruise in the original. Hrithik Roshan too has apparently given green signal to the project.

For the role of Cameron Diaz, both the director and Hrithik Roshan are keen on roping in Katrina Kaif. And Katrina Kaif too is keen on doing the project but there is one major problem as the shooting of this movie might clash with that of Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Gunday’.

“Both the films would be shot around the same time. So Katrina can only do one of them. ‘Knight and Day’ is a huge temptation. Katrina loved Cameron Diaz's part in the original. And the heroine is there in nearly every scene with the hero. When Katrina came together with Hrithik in ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ she was hardly given any playing time with him. Here the temptation is to be there all through with Hrithik on screen. Also, Siddharth Anand is very keen to get Katrina on board with Hrithik,” said a source to a daily.

But the actress was asked to be a part of ‘Gunday’ personally by Arjun Kapoor, with whom Katrina Kaif shares a very special bond and considers rakhi-brother. The actress is also a very close friend of Ali Abbas Zafar.

“Ali and Katrina shared a great rapport when they did ‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’. It was decided between them that Katrina would be part of the director's next. ‘Gunday’ would also give her a chance to work with two new leading men Arjun and Ranveer, one of whom happens to be a close friend,” the source said.

Katrina Kaif though is currently undecided on any of her future projects.

“After Yashji's ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ my slate is clean. I have no other projects on hand. Talks are on with various filmmakers. I am reading scripts. Until I say yes to any particular project it would be unethical to talk about it,” Katrina Kaif said.

It remains to be seen if she goes with Arjun Kapoor or Hrithik Roshan or manages to be a part of both these projects.
