Veteran director Yash Chopra is making a comeback to direction with ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ after a gap of 8 long years. The last movie that Yash Chopra directed was ‘Veer-Zaara’ way back in 2004.
‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, is already one of the most eagerly anticipated movie of the year but according to filmmaker Karan Johar, the movie will also be the most special movie of the year as this might be Yash Chopra last movie as a director.
“Yashji (Yash Chopra) is like my father. His birthday this year is very special because he is probably making his last film. All of our films are releasing this year but that film will be the most special experience of 2012,” said Karan Johar to IANS.
“This year is special not just for him but for the whole industry because Yashji's last film is releasing this year,” he added.
‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ will release on November 13.
Karan Johar is excited and elated that Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfi’ has been selected as India’s official entry to Oscars to be held next year.
“I am thrilled to bits and I think what better film than ‘Barfi!’ to make it. I have gone on record to say how it was truly most spectacular film experience I have had in years. It's really everyone's wish come true that ‘Barfi’ makes it and I hope it walks the red carpet next year,” he said.
The director himself is making a comeback to direction with ‘Student of the Year’ after his super hit movie ‘My Name is Khan’.
‘Student of the Year’ stars three new comers – Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, along with veteran actor Rishi Kapoor.
The movie will release on October 19.
