Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who turned 70 today, celebrated his birthday in style.
The 70th birthday bash that was expected to be a grand affair turned out into a phenomenal affair filled with glitz and glamour. The lavish and flamboyant party hosted few of the biggest names in both Bollywood as well as political world.
A red carpet was rolled out for nearly 800 guests at the Reliance Media Work, Film City, Goregaon.
The guest list included who’s who of Bollywood and was mix current between actors from yester era and today’s stars.
Yester year actors like Dilip Kumar, Hema Malini, Waheeda Rehman, Vinod Khanna, Pran, Zeenat Aman, Danny Denzongpa, Neetu and Rishi Kapoor and Shashi Kapoor, who was wheeled in a wheelchair, were present at the affair.
The guest list also included the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and his wife Gauri, Karan Johar and his mother Hiroo Johar, Javed Akhtar and his wife Shabana Azmi, Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit with her husband Sriram Nene, co-star Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Kajol, Mahima Chaudhary, Abbas Mastan, Sudhir Mishra, Subhash Ghai, Alka Yagnik, Boman Irani, R Madhavan, Ameesha Patel, Tabu, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Divya Dutta, Ashutosh Gowariker, Juhi Chawla, Preity Zinta, Vipul Shah, Rana Daggubati and Urmila Matondkar.
The guest list doesn’t end there as Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra, Anurag Kashyap and his wife Kalki Koechlin, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, John Abraham and Arshad Warsi came to wish Mr. Bachchan.
South Superstar and Amitabh Bachchan’s very close friend Rajinikanth flew to Mumbai to wish his friend on his birthday. Other than him Tollywood stars like Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi with his wife, son Ram Charan Teja, who is set to make his Bollywood debut with Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Zanjeer’ remake and his new daughter-in-law Upasana were among the early arrivals.
From the political world profile politicians like Samajwadi supremos Mulayam and Akhilesh Singh Yadav, Union Minister Praful Patel, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Praful Patel, Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray were also present to wish Amitabh Bachchan.
The party held in the honor of Amitabh Bachchan, showered the birthday boy with lavish praises and lots of love.
Karan Johar, Bunty Bachchan, Yash Chopra, Anil Ambani and Javed Akhtar were among the guests who made speeches showering Amitabh Bachchan with eloquent praises and sharing their moments with the star.
The night included live performances by rock band Bartenders. Bollywood music stars like Anushka Manchanda, Suman Shridhar and Mauli Dave also performed.
The most appreciated event of the night thought was the beautiful dance drama with aerial acrobatics on Amitabh Bachchan’s father Harivanshrai Bachchan's Madhushala, choreographed by Amitabh Bachchan himself.
The 11 month old Aaradhya Bachchan too made her red carpet debut for the midnight cake cutting.
