Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji’s brother Raja Mukerji was arrested on Sunday in Mumbai for molestation.

According to reports, a woman aspiring to become a director, who also wanted to cast Rani Mukerji in the lead, approached Raja with the script. According to police this was when Raja Mukerji molested her.

“The woman had gone to show Raja Mukherjee a script. He tried to molest her in the car," said Narsingh Sherkhan to IBN.

“Raja was sent for a medical test and then taken into police custody. He is currently lodged in Andheri jail," reported the news website.

A case under section 354 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered against him. He will be produced in court on Monday.

Raja Mukerji, who has produced a few films in the past, is currently working on his directorial debut.

He is married to Jyoti and they have a daughter together.
