Yash Chopra diagnosed with dengue

Veteran filmmaker Yash Chopra, who was rushed to Lilavati hospital in Mumbai on Saturday, has been diagnosed with dengue fever.

“Mr. Yash Chopra was admitted to the hospital on Saturday after being diagnosed with an attack of dengue. He has been kept under observation. He is feeling much better and should be home soon. Thank you all for your concern and best wishes,” said a spokesperson from Yash Raj Films in a statement.

According to sources the director, who turned 80 recently, was admitted to hospital after he complained of feeling extremely weak.

“The filmmaker is currently lodged in the ICU on the sixth floor of the hospital. He is expected to be shifted soon to the eleventh floor as he is responding well to the treatment,” reported a daily.

For the past few months director has been busy with the movie ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’. Yash Chopra is making a comeback as a director with this film after a long gap of 8 years. The filmmaker announced on his birthday that this would also be his last movie as a director.

‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ stars Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles. It’s all set to release on November 13.
