Former Miss Universe Lara Dutta who has tried her hands in acting and producing said that it won’t be long before she dons the director’s cap as well.
“I am a producer today and I know at some point of time I would like to try my hand at direction and I don't think it is too far down in the future. I think it will happen eventually,” said Lara Dutta to IANS.
Lara Dutta, who is married to tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi and delivered beautiful baby girl Saira recently, said that even if she isn’t acting in any movies she makes it a point to stay connected with the industry.
“Even if I am acting or not, but through some production or my husband's production (Bheegi Basanti), I will constantly be associated with the Indian film industry,” she said.
When asked if she is someone who plans ahead she said, “I am not a planned person at all. Life happens to me. I think I am very blessed and I am very grateful.”
The actress, who was last seen in Farhan Akhtar’s ‘Don 2’, said that she loves to take risks when it comes to movie roles.
“I take a lot of chance. I throw myself off the deep end and sometimes I am terrified doing it. But then I think if I don't take those chances, then it's like nothing ventured and nothing lost. I think I have grown tremendously with all the risks I have taken,” she said.
The recently turned mother said that motherhood has helped her discover a side of her that she never knew existed.
“I have unearthed a huge trove of patience, which I never had before. I have always been self-reliant but it has given me so much more confidence. I have travelled with Saira across the world and we have done amazing trips,” she said.
"I am a hands on mum and I have done it all on my own. And when you get through an entire day, you feel such an immense sense of accomplishment. Your baby is happy and healthy. It has changed me for better," she concluded.
Lara Dutta is currently busy working in Bejoy Nambiar' movie ‘David’, which also stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tabu, Vinay Virmani and Isha Sharvani. The movie is expected to release some time next year.
