After impressing one and all with her performance in ‘Cocktail’, actress Deepika Padukone is gearing up for the release of her action thriller movie ‘Race 2’.
“It has been great. 'Race 2' has been a wonderful journey for me. I am very proud of it. The movie is an action thriller, but it also has a lot of glamour. The first film of the franchise did well too,” said Deepika Padukone.
The actress will once again be seen opposite Saif Ali Khan, with whom she has already delivered hit movies ‘Love Aaj Kal’ and ‘Cocktail’.
“Saif and I have worked before so that comfort level comes. The same is true for John too,” she said.
Before the shooting of the movie began Deepika Padukone had walked out of the movie as the movie kept getting delayed and she couldn’t accommodate the movie in her schedule. The producer of the movie Ramesh Taurani moved to court against the actress, who later decided to walk back into the movie.
Deepika Padukone said that ‘Race 2’ was a very important movie to her.
“‘Race 2’ is very important to me, and even its promotion is very important as well,” she concluded.
Sequel to 2008 hit film ‘Race’, ‘Race 2’ stars Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel in lead roles. The movie also features a cameo by Bipasha Basu, who played Saif Ali Khan’s love interest Sonia in the original.
Directed by the director duo Abbas-Mustan, the movie will hit screens on January 25.
