Actress Sonam Kapoor has reportedly been finalized to play lead role in the remake of 1980’s classic movie ‘Khubsoorat’.

The original movie was directed by veteran director Hrishikesh Mukherjee and starred Rekha, Ashok Kumar, Dina Pathak and Rakesh Roshan.

The movie was a huge hit and remains one of Bollywood’s best comedies. The movie is also remembered for Rekha's character of a vivaciousness and fun-loving girl.

And according to sources Sonam Kapoor is very keen on meeting Rekha to get tips from Rekha to play the character well.

“She wants to understand the character well and take Rekha's advice how to go about it,” said a source to a daily.

The movie will be produced by Sonam Kapoor’s father Anil Kapoor and sister Rhea Kapoor. It will reportedly be directed Shashanka Ghosh.

The actress is apparently very keen on starting the project.

“Sonam is very excited to start working on this project as it was one of the finest works of Rekha. It was a blockbuster of 1980,” the source concluded.
