Recently it was reported that director Zoya Akhtar would be casting the brother-sister duo of Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in her next movie. It was also said that starring opposite the cousins would be Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif.

But Ranbir Kapoor denied these reports and said that nothing was confirmed about Zoya Akhtar’s project yet.

“It is completely false news that I am doing the film,” said Ranbir Kapoor to HT.

“Zoya’s film hasn’t been finalized yet. She’s not even formally offered me the film. We meet as friends and she keeps saying that she’s writing something. I guess I can only talk about it once she finalizes everything,” he added.

The actor said that he was very excited to perform alongside his mother, Neetu Kapoor, at the Colors Screen Awards that will be held this week. They will be performing the classic numbers ‘Parda Hai Parda’ and ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’ to mark the Indian film industry’s centenary.

“She (Neetu) is nervous. We haven’t started rehearsing for the event yet,” he said.

Recently reports about Ranbir Kapoor celebrating the New Year’s Eve with his alleged girlfriend Katrina Kaif have been rife. Ranbir said that he is fed up of such reports.

“There is so much speculation about what happens in an actor’s life, and it’s so unfair. How much can one clarify and how much can one deny? It just becomes a cycle. I am here to do good work and talk about films. I’d rather just stick to that,” he concluded.

Ranbir Kapoor has three big movies lined up for this year. The actor will be first seen Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’, starring his ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone, followed by Abhinav Kashyap’s ‘Besharam’, which stars his parents Rishi and Neetu Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’.
