Actor Ranbir Kapoor, who has established himself as one of the top actors in Bollywood with brilliant performances in movies like ‘Raajneeti’, ‘Wake Up Sid’, ‘Rocket Singh’, ‘Rockstar’, ‘Barfi!’ etc, recently said that behind every great performance by an actor there are many unsung heroes.

The actor said that there many people responsible for a good performance by an actor but the actor walks away with all the accolades.

“Actors get too much credit. I am sitting here talking about acting, but there is so much that goes behind us. There is a director, writers, cinematographer, lighting, makeup, background music," said Ranbir Kapoor during a conversation with Anupam Kher at the latter's Actor Prepares acting school.

Ranbir said that things like background music helps to establish the emotions of actors much better.

“(While shooting) I can just sit and the camera moves towards me and there is a sad music playing, that can portray so many emotions, and the audience thinks, 'Wow what a performance he has given'. But at the same time you have that same shot with some happy music playing and audience will say he is internalizing his happiness,” he said.

Ranbir Kapoor had a great 2012 with his movie ‘Barfi!’ becoming not only one of the biggest hits of the year but also being chosen as India’s official entry to the Academy Awards to be held this February. Unfortunately, the movie failed to make it to the short list.

2013 too promising to be a great year for Ranbir Kapoor as he has three big movies lined up. The actor will be first seen Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’, starring his ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone, followed by Abhinav Kashyap’s ‘Besharam’, which stars his parents Rishi and Neetu Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’.
