Actress Priyanka Chopra, who will be playing Mary Kom in the biopic on Olympic medalist Mary Kom, said that the shooting of the movie will begin in June this year.
“We will start the film in June. I am training for it at the moment and it will take me that much time to come into shape,” said Priyanka Chopra to IANS.
The actress said that the training was rigorous and every part of her body hurts.
“Every part of my body hurts. Now I know how Mary Kom trains herself everyday," she said.
The biopic will be directed by Omung Kumar, the art director of 'Black' and 'Sawaariya'. He approached filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali with the idea of adapting Mary Kom’s inspiring life story into a movie. Sanjay Leela Bhansali lost no time in giving his approval for the project and decided to produce it.
Omung Kumar will be making his debut as a director with this film.
