Recently the first look posters of Rohit Shetty’s ‘Chennai Express’ were released. One of the posters of the movie showed actress Deepika Padukone donning, a never before seen, attire of a lungi and a shirt.
Deepika Padukone said that her ‘lungi look’ was courtesy her director Rohit Shetty and her co-star Shah Rukh Khan.
“That's something new and I hope it works,” said Deepika Padukone to PTI.
“The idea to wear a 'lungi' is not mine actually. It was Shah Rukh and Rohit who came up with it. We had to quickly do a photoshoot because we were losing the light. They were like 'Why don't we give her this lungi and make her look modern'. The shirt that I am wearing in the posters also belongs to SRK, only the sunglasses are mine,” she added.
‘Chennai Express’ reunites Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone after their immensely successful movie ‘Om Shanti Om’.
The movie is scheduled to release later this year.
Deepika Padukone has a jam packed 2013 with 5 major releases. Her movie ‘Race 2’ that released in January turned out to be a blockbuster hit and became the first movie of 2013 to enter the 100 Crore Club.
Other than ‘Chennai Express’, Deepika Padukone also has Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’, opposite Ranbir Kapoor, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram Leela’, opposite Ranveer Singh, and Aishwarya Rajinikanth’s ‘Kochadaiyaan’, opposite Rajinikanth, scheduled to release this year.
The actress is currently busy with post productions works of eagerly anticipated Rajnikanth movie ‘Kochadaiyaan’.
“It has been a good year but my next six months are very demanding in terms of my schedule. I hope all the hard work pays. I have ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Kochadaiyaan’ with Rajini (Rajinikanth) sir is also ready for release,” said Deepika.
Recently it was rumored that Deepika Padukone will be a part of Salman Khan’s movie ‘Kick’, a remake of Telugu movie. But the actress dismissed this news as mere speculations.
“That's all speculation. It probably stems from the fact that I had expressed a desire to work with Salman Khan. Maybe these stories are coming from there. There is nothing concrete on that film yet,” she concluded.
