‘Grand Masti’, sequel of 2004 hit movie ‘Masti’, will release this year.

Aftab Shivdasani, who plays one of the male leads in the movie, insists that the sequel is very different from the original.

“The only thing which is common is the filmmaker and the three actors. The rest of the story, setting and even the wives are different. It is a franchise and not a sequel. It's funnier, crazier wilder... it's a bundle of entertainment," Aftab told IANS.

“It's different. It may not appeal to some people's sensibilities but the masses will enjoy it. It is comedy of errors, which is something people always enjoy watching,” he added

‘Masti’, released in 2004, was directed by Indra Kumar. The movie starred Aftab Shivdasani, Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh as the male leads. The movie also featured Tara Sharma, Amrita Rao and Genelia D'Souza.

While Aftab Shivdasani, Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh are also part of the sequel, the movie features fresh female cast in form of Maryam Zakaria, Kainaat Arora, Bruna Abdullah, Manjari Phadnis, Karishma Tanna and Sonali Kulkarni.

Aftab Shivdasani said that movie will be wrapped up very soon.

“The shooting should finish soon. It is almost over. We will be shooting 15-20 days in April,” he concluded.
