Rishi Kapoor, who impressed one and all with his performance as Rauf Lala, a ruthless gangster, in the movie ‘Agneepath’, will now portray the role of Dawood Ibrahim in Nikhil Advani’s upcoming movie ‘D-Day’.

The movie ‘D-Day’ is said to be an authentic, gutsy, raw and edgy thriller about 2 RAW agents, played by Irrfan Khan and Arjun Rampal, who are sent to Pakistan to bring Dawood Ibrahim back by road to be tried by the Indian government.

Earlier director Nikhil Advani had boldly named Rishi Kapoor’s character as Dawood but is now forced to camouflage Rishi Kapoor character.

“Rishiji's character is not even named Dawood any longer. Under pressure, Nikhil Advani had to give the character a fictional name, though it would be quite obvious who he is," said a source to IANS.

The sources say that Rishi Kapoor’s character in this movie will be more sinister, darker and edgier than Rauf Lala from ‘Agneepath’.

“This would be an even darker more sinister character than the one he played in 'Agneepath' (of villainous Rauf Lala). Rishiji is researching the character as rigorously as he can. But now the excitement of playing the edgy real-life character is blunted,” the source said.

Apart from Irrfan Khan, Arjun Rampal and Rishi Kapoor, the movie also stars Chandan Roy Sanyal as the don's psychotic nephew.

The movie is all set to go on floors soon.
