Actress Kangna Ranaut, who is currently busy promoting her upcoming movie ‘I Love New York’, thinks that filmmakers have started showing more confidence in her and her acting abilities post ‘Tanu Weds Manu’.
“After ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, people are much more confident about me and when they offered this role to me, I was very excited. It is totally opposite to what I have already done and tried,” said Kangna Ranaut to IANS during the first look launch of her movie.
The actress said that her character in ‘I Love New York’ is very different from Tanu in ‘Tanu Weds Manu’.
“This is a girl who is not street smart, clever New Yorker. She is quite opposite to that. It's been a very good experience and I hope people like it,” she said.
‘I Love New York’ is a romantic comedy and pairs Kangna Ranaut with Sunny Deol for the very first time.
When asked about working with an action hero like Sunny Deol in a romantic comedy, Kangna said actors don't think the way audiences do.
“So our approach towards other actors is different as compared to what you guys mostly perceive us as,” she said.
“When I think of Sunnyji, I think of him as an actor and not as someone flying, doing all kinds of action, or punching people. For me, he is an actor and you get to see his different sides when he plays an action role or a romantic role,” Kangna Ranaut concluded.
The movie ‘I Love New York’ is co-directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru.
The movie will release on April 26.
