Actress Kareena Kapoor plays a role of a journalist in Prakash Jha’s upcoming movie ‘Satyagraha’.
Kareena Kapoor said that her character, Yasmin, plays a crucial role in bringing together the entire movement shown in the film
“Yasmin kind of puts together the whole revolution, brings together the entire movement that we have (shown) in the film. It's strong, it's intense and I am happy that Prakash ji thought of me for this role,” said Kareena Kapoor to IANS during a video chat at the first look launch of the movie.
The actress said that she dint prepare much for the role as she is a director’s actress.
“There was not too much preparation because I am a director's actor, and I left everything to Prakash ji. He guided me through the whole role, but I think there are influences of some journalists. Basically, very work-focused and no time for love... That's basically Yasmin's character,” she said.
The actress said that thanks to her role in the movie, she finally understands the work pressure felt by journalists.
“Our film shows that when she (the reporter) is on field and during the time of the revolution, she stays true to her work no matter what the situation is. I understand that the media has to do their job, their job is to report and have constant stories to report all the time, no matter where and how,” she said.
Directed by Prakash Jha, the movie ‘Satyagraha’ stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee, Amrita Rao and Vipin Sharma.
The movie is all set to hit screens on August 30.
