Director Lawrence D'Souza, who directed the 1991 blockbuster hit ‘Saajan’, is all set to work on its sequel.

The sequel won’t star the original star cast of Sanjay Dutt, Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit but will feature "younger star cast of known actors".

“The scripting is done. The basic idea of the film is the same - a love triangle -- two heroes and a heroine. We want big stars for this film. We would go with a younger lot of known actors. We do have few names in mind," Lawrence D'Souza told PTI.

The director said that the idea came to him when people asked to direct remakes of old movies.

“I had thought of remaking the film when people started asking me to remake old blockbusters,” he said.

Lawrence D’Souza plans on starting the movie next year. He said that the movie will be shot in beautiful Kashmir.

In ‘Saajan’ Aman, played by Sanjay Dutt, is an orphan boy befriended by wealthy Akash Verma, played by Salman Khan. Aman grows up to be a famous poet under the pen name Sagar and Akash grows to be a womanizer. Pooja Sexena, played by Madhuri Dixit is one of Sagar’s fans. She and Sagar (Sanjay Dutt) start conversing with each other through a series of letters and develop feelings for one another. But when Aman realizes that Akash is in love with Pooja, he decides to sacrifice his love, hence forming a love triangle.

The director said that further details about the movie will be revealed soon.
