Filmmaker Subhash Ghai denied the reports that he was planning on replacing aspiring actor Suraj Pancholi, son of Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab, in his upcoming movie remake of ‘Hero’.

Recently it was speculated that Suraj Pancholi wouldn’t be part of the movie anymore due to him being arrested for allegedly abetting actress Jiah Khan’s suicide.

But Subhash Ghai denied these reports and said that he and Salman Khan still support the young actor.

“Suraj is not at fault and why should he be punished for it? He is a wonderful and potential actor. We had committed to him and we will stand by it. How can we go back? Salman is not the person who will go back on his words," said Subhash Ghai to PTI.

‘Hero’ is the remake of Subhash Ghai’s 1983 blockbuster hit by same name. The original starred Jackie Sharoff and Meenakshi Sheshadri in the lead roles.

“We are making a film with him (Suraj). I don't know when it will go on floors. I have to discuss it with Salman. But definitely we are making the film with Suraj," Ghai concluded.

The remake will also launch Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya.

The movie will be produced by Salman Khan.
