Director Vikramaditya Motwane, who is on a high post the success of his movie ‘Lootera’, is keen on casting Imran Khan for his upcoming movie ‘Bhabesh’.
‘Bhabesh’ is a movie adaptation of a Gujrati novel, which portrays a common man’s angst against the system.
According to sources Imran Khan has already met the director and has agreed to be a part of this project.
“The main protagonist to be played by Imran is Gujarati. It is a heroic character that will show him in a completely different light. For the same, he has already been through three story sittings with Vikram before the director went on a break. And whatever he has heard is really impressive. Things are almost confirmed, but Vikram’s return from his break (after Lootera’s success) is awaited to finalize and lock every other detail,” said an industry insider to Hindustan Times.
After his successful debut with ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ Imran Khan earned the tag of a chocolate boy. Ever since then the actor has been trying to break out of that image and try something different. He played a villager in his previous movie ‘Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola’. His performance earned mixed reviews from the critics. While some critics said that Imran Khan did a tremenduous job portraying a Harvani boy, other critics labeled him a ‘non-actor’.
Imran Khan will next be seen in Milan Luthria’s ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara’.
He will also be seen in Punit Malhotra’s ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’ (GTPM) and Tigmanshu Dhulia’s ‘Milan Talkies’.
The sources said that the movie ‘Bhabesh’ will go on floor after the release of ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara’ in September. By that time Imran Khan will also have wrapped up the shooting of ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’.
