Filmmaker Kiran Rao, who recently released critically acclaimed movie ‘Ship of Theseus’, directed by Anand Gandhi, in collaboration with UTV Motion Pictures, said that people like her husband, actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan and director Anand Gandhi have enriched her journey.
“I feel fortunate that I have got opportunities to meet people like Anand Gandhi (director of ‘Ship Of Theseus’), Aamir and different, different technicians. Due to this my growth and journey has become more rich and layered,” said Kiran Rao at a press conference.
Kiran Rao said that she feels lucky to have met these people in her life.
“So, definitely I feel myself to be lucky," she added.
Kiran Rao initially worked as an assistant director on films like ‘Lagaan’, ‘Monsoon Wedding’, ‘Saathiya’ and ‘Swades’. She turned into a full-fledged director in 2011 with ‘Dhobi Ghat’.
It was during the shooting of ‘Lagaan’ that Kiran Rao met Aamir Khan. They married in 2005.
The couple has a son, Azad Rao Khan born on December 5, 2011 through surrogacy.
