Southern director Alphonse Putharen is planning on remaking 2012 hit Malayalam movie ‘Shutter’ in Hindi.

The filmmaker is keen on casting Anil Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Abhay Deol and Tusshar Kapoor in the thriller. He is currently awaiting confirmation from the actors.

“I have already approached Anilji, Anushka, Abhay and Tusshar for the four lead roles in the film. I still haven't heard from them. I should finalize the cast in about a month's time," Alphonse told IANS.

‘Shutter’, directed by Joy Mathew, got a thunderous response from critics when it was screened during International Film Festival of Kerala. Many critics claimed the movie to be a part of new-wave in Malayalam cinema.

Alphonse, who is basking in the success of his last Tamil-Malayalam directorial venture ‘Neram’, said that he will retain the same technical team for the Hindi project.

‘Shutter’ is a satire about Indian laborers in the Gulf and is set within two days and a night in the city of Kozhikode. The film portrays unexpected incidents happening in two days and a night in the city of Kozhikode. The story centers around the mess created by three men — a Gulf Malayali, a film director and an auto driver — after they meet a strange woman in bizarre circumstance.
