Director Karan Malhotra’s upcoming movie ‘Shuddhi’ will bring together Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor after nearly a decade.

“Yes, finally we have confirmed Kareena for the role. I feel she is a stunning looking girl and she suites the character best. I am sure she will do justice to the film," said Karan Malhotra to IANS.

The filmmaker, who made his debut last year with ‘Agneepath’ that also starred Hrithik Roshan, said that it may sound clichéd but Hrithik and Kareena will be seen in a never before seen avatar in the movie.

“I am not allowed to talk much about my film, but all I can assure you is Kareena and Hrithik will be seen in a never before role in 'Shuddhi'. I know it's the most cliché line ever, but I can assure you on that,” he said.

For a year now rumors of Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor coming together for a movie have been floating around. These rumors have piked the interest of many movie lovers who have been waiting for nearly 10 years to see these both stars on big screen again.

So, when questioned if it was a conscious decision to bring these both stars together in the movie, the director said, “No, it was not a conscious decision, it was just a coincidence. They both look lovely together, the script demanded them and I am lucky to have them on board.”

In beginning of their career’s Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor starred together in movies like ‘Yaadein’, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum’, 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge!’. They were last seen in’ Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon’. But later it was reported that the actors had fallout and took a decision to not act together again.

But Karan Malhotra denied any discomfort or difference between Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor.

“Kareena is a thorough professional and she took it as any other job. I don't think there are any differences,” he said.

‘Shuddhi’ is said to be an intense love story with a reincarnation theme weaved in a dramatic form.

Karan Johar, who is producing the movie, is excited to see the pairing of Hrithik and Kareena on big screen again.

“I'm excited to see Hrithik and Kareena back after 12 years,” said Karan Johar.

The movie is all set to go on floors early next year.
