Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan will be felicitated with the Global Diversity Award in the British Parliament on Wednesday, September 11.
“Tomorrow (Wednesday) there is more activity and honor coming my way, by meeting up with the Speaker of the parliament and to be taken around to the most private and secure parts of the structure, ending in presenting me with the Global Diversity Award...so humbling,” wrote Amitabh Bachchan.
This isn’t Amitabh Bachchan’s first international honor. In July 1999, he was named the Greatest Star of stage or screen of the Millennium in a poll by BBC.
In 2000, his wax statue was unveiled in Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London. In 2003, he was conferred with the Honorary Citizenship of the French town of Deauville.
Legendary movie star, who has appeared in over 180 movies, was accorded France's highest civilian honor, the Knight of the Legion of Honor, by the French government in 2007 for his exceptional career in cinema and beyond.
The veteran actor also carried the Olympic Torch relay in London, a day before the opening ceremony of 30th Games in 2012.
Amitabh Bachchan made his Hollywood debut this year with the movie adaptation of classic ‘The Great Gatsby’.
